I sure didn't until I read your post Neil. Thank you. Went straight to Treasurydirect.com to buy I-Bond but kept getting kicked off the website while trying to set up an account... but they offer a phone option so will try that.

Every banker should check out the U.S. Treasury's offering of I-Bonds. A good article to learn more about it can be found at https://www.depositaccounts.com/blog/inflation-treasury-series-i-savings-bonds/
After opening accounts for myself and my spouse at https://www.treasurydirect.gov/ I can see where a lot of couples will be able to invest $10,000 per SSN this calendar year and then double it in January giving them $40,000 in variable rate savings bonds yielding a rate that keeps up with CPI-U.
I am curious how many of you have this on your radar?
