While Some Things May Be "Transitory" - Inflation Doesn't Look Like it Is One of Them

I hear you Neil. I suspect Powell wishes he never used that word. At his press conference last week, the Fed chair tried to redefine "transitory," saying it was less about a length of time and more about lasting impact. Personally I think the jury is still out, but I agree today's numbers make it increasingly hard to make that case. Still it is possible that price pressures will ease as supply chains smooth out.
