Summer Interns
We have about 115 employees and host about 12 summer interns each year. To ensure they have a meaningful experience and we garner some benefit at the Bank, we circulate a list of interns and summary skills to our key managers and ask for areas where an intern could be of use (most managers need a little prodding). We all have some projects we have been meaning to get around to. We have had good success in most areas of the Bank. At the end of the summer season we have a formal presentation of each project by the interns to the management group. Great for recruiting as well; we have hired several interns after their graduation.

------Original Message------
We are considering adding a summer internship program for a college student and wondered if anyone would mind sharing what they have done. We are struggling with what kind of projects this type of position could really be expected to perform and without taking too many already stretched thin resources. Summer time is obviously a prime vacation time for our staff and with 36 employees it seems that we are already pretty thin when it comes to extra time to give to an intern. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
