Summer Interns

We had 2 different experiences.
2 summers ago we had a Marketing Intern. This worked well. She was able to help with various summer projects we had going on.
Last summer we had an intern and we tried just letting her spend a couple of days with each department head to learn about all areas of the bank. This proved to be quite a challenge during vacation time
with all departments stretched thin anyway.
This summer we decided we would take a break from having an intern.
With limited staff interns are definitely a challenge.

------Original Message------
We are considering adding a summer internship program for a college student and wondered if anyone would mind sharing what they have done. We are struggling with what kind of projects this type of position could really be expected to perform and without taking too many already stretched thin resources. Summer time is obviously a prime vacation time for our staff and with 36 employees it seems that we are already pretty thin when it comes to extra time to give to an intern. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
