Summer Interns

Since I have some of both of these on my desk right now, this is top of mind, and that's GL account reconciliations and annual loan reviews. Our staff is a bit smaller than yours, and similarly stretched, and these are two things that routinely get shoved to the bottom of the pile.  Neither are extremely complex, and it's always useful to have a new set of eyes on a process.  The questions they ask may help you figure out a better way to do things.

Subject: Summer Interns

We are considering adding a summer internship program for a college student and wondered if anyone would mind sharing what they have done.  We are struggling with what kind of projects this type of position could really be expected to perform and without taking too many already stretched thin resources.  Summer time is obviously a prime vacation time for our staff and with 36 employees it seems that we are already pretty thin when it comes to extra time to give to an intern.  Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
