rate increase
We haven't really tried to compete with the rates offered on the internet. We are having some success with promoting the security and stability of our brand and offering a rate that is competitive and in some cases slightly higher than free standing competitors in our market. We have also had good success in tying our ability to be a good steward in our markets (i.e. donations, sponsorships local bond purchases) with our ability to grow so supporting us with your deposits indirectly has a positive affect on your community.

I see some "Internet" banks (banks that have no physical presence in the markets we serve) offering some ridiculously high CD rates. How can a small community bank compete with that?
