[Poll Question]: Do you agree with Federal Reserve officials who want to incorporate the risks posed by climate change into bank supervision?
Barb, I am hardly an expert in this regard. I will just offer this...Awareness doesn't constitute strategy. Seems to me that accounting for climate change in bank regulatory activity at this stage is getting all dressed up with no place to go. A regulated industry seeks to apply risk mitigation to protect the industry to maximize the stability of the industry in order to serve its clients with confidence and stability. Dealing with the impacts of man's presence on the planet and how we will adjust behaviors across the planet does not seem like it is anything appropriate for U.S. banking regulatory framework until a consensus develops about what paradigms should be adopted and promoted and which ones should be abandoned. The entire issue is about the need to make changes to preserve the integrity of the planet. The inherent dynamics of this are not suited for industry regulators until there is some weighty agreement in our society regarding the appropriate proven methodologies. Until then it seems to me that engagement in designing regulatory process would likely only produce friction that impedes real progress. It might be a very logical approach someday.

Do you agree with Federal Reserve officials who want to incorporate the risks posed by climate change into bank supervision?
Yes, clearly bizarre weather like freezing temps in Texas pose risks we must account for
No, risk management is complicated enough already
