Introduce Yourself

First, a big 'thank you' to Ryan Geib for inviting me to this network.  My goal is to share ideas and information, learn from my peers, stay engaged with hot topics/emerging issues, and deepen connections to the banking industry.  I've had the good fortune to work for CNB Bank for 10 years, the last 6 as CFO, and I had spent the first 12 years of my career in public accounting.

I am Barbara Rehm, and I joined Promontory Interfinancial Network to help launch Peer Intelligence, an online community exclusively for senior bank executives. My goal is simple: to make this community valuable to you. I'll be posting questions and encouraging discussion as well as recruiting experts to answer your questions and provoke debate. Together, we can all get smarter. But Peer Intelligence is nothing without your participation.

Here's a little about me: I started writing about banking in 1987 when I joined the staff of American Banker newspaper. I only planned to work there a few years, but stayed for 26, rising to Editor in Chief just before the financial crisis. I love to cook, listen to Bruce Springsteen, and watch baseball (both my childhood team, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Washington Nationals). I just got an Australian Labradoodle puppy.
